Terms of use

The agreement between you and the company that runs fore:bitcoin.

fore:bitcoin is an invite-only app where bitcoiners who golf find each other, arrange games and record how they played. It is run by Mosarric Services Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (SC346592). “We” in these terms means Mosarric. By using fore:bitcoin you agree to these terms and to the clubhouse rules. The privacy policy says what we keep about you and why.

• fore:bitcoin puts members in touch. The games you arrange, and what happens at them, are between you and the members you play with.
• We don’t check who members are. Take the care you would meeting anyone new.
• fore:bitcoin never holds or moves money, bitcoin included.
• You can delete your account at any time.

Joining

• fore:bitcoin is for adults aged 18 and over, who join by a member’s invitation.
• One account each, for you alone.
• Whoever has your email, your Nostr signer or your Lightning wallet can sign in as you, so keep them safe. If someone else has signed in as you, write to club@forebitcoin.com.

Meeting other members

We don’t arrange games or go to them. Members arrange them with each other, and meet and play at their own risk.

• We don’t check members’ identities, backgrounds or handicaps. A profile says what its member chose to put in it.
• When you meet a member for the first time, meet at the club, and tell someone where you’ll be.
• You’re responsible for your own safety and how you behave, at the course and on the way there and back.
• Tee times, green fees and a club’s own rules are between you and the club.
• If a member makes you feel unsafe, report them in the app, and block them. If you’re in danger, call the emergency services.

What you post

• What you post, such as your profile, messages, posts and results, is yours. You let us keep it and show it to the members it’s for, as the privacy policy says, for as long as it’s in fore:bitcoin.
• You’re responsible for what you post. It must keep to the clubhouse rules and the law, and be yours to post.
• A post you make public on Nostr can be read by anyone, and can’t be fully taken back.
• We may remove anything that breaks the clubhouse rules, with the member responsible.

Money

fore:bitcoin never holds or moves money, bitcoin included. Anything members pay each other, such as their share of a green fee, is between them.

The app

• fore:bitcoin is free.
• We do our best to keep it working and its information right, but we can’t promise it will always be there, or be free of faults. The club list comes from OpenStreetMap and may be out of date, and directions come from your phone’s maps app.
• We may change the app, or stop a part of it. If we stop something members use, we’ll tell them in the app first.
• Don’t try to reach what isn’t yours, copy members’ information out of fore:bitcoin, or disrupt the app or its server.

Leaving

• You can delete your account at any time, at the foot of the You tab. The privacy policy says what goes and what stays.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the clubhouse rules, or to keep members safe. We’ll say why, unless the law or a member’s safety stops us.

What we’re responsible for

• We’re not responsible for what members say or do, in fore:bitcoin or when they meet, or for a game that doesn’t go ahead.
• We’re not responsible for losses we couldn’t have foreseen, or for losses to a business.
• Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t let us limit, and nothing in them takes away your rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes too. If a change matters to how you use fore:bitcoin, we’ll tell members in the app before it takes effect. If you don’t agree with it, you can delete your account.

The law

These terms are under the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts deal with any dispute about them. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protections of the law where you live, and can go to its courts.
